From silent to present – SFQ launches Digital Connect

For many years, SFQ has been a relatively anonymous organization in digital spaces. But that’s exactly where our members are. In the scrolling, in the stories, in Discord channels and DMs – that’s where life happens. That’s where friendships form, identities are discovered, and support is shared. That’s where we should be, too. And now, the time has come.

Since January 2025, we at SFQ have been working intensively on a new digital strategy that will take our organization even deeper into the reality where many of us already live – the digital one. The strategy is called Digital Connect, and it’s more than just a refresh of our Instagram feed. It’s a wholehearted shift in how we think, communicate, and engage with our members.

What is Digital Connect?

We know that queer people need safe spaces – both physical and digital. With Digital Connect, we want to create exactly that: a digital presence that feels like a sharp voice and a reliable resource. This means you’ll find us where you already are – on Insta, Discord, maybe even Twitch. We’re building content that reflects our lives, our questions, our struggles, and our joy. It’s about representation, yes – but also about offering community, knowledge, and engagement.

More Than Just Content

Being present online isn’t just about posting pretty pictures or writing clever captions. It’s about building relationships. That’s why we’re working on strategies for dialogue, involvement, and visibility – for real. It means we want to listen more, respond faster, and be more transparent about what we do and why.

We also want to invite you to be part of this. Are you good at creating content? Do you have something to say? Want to join a community that’s here to change things, not just follow along? Then now’s the time to reach out.

Why Now?

Because we can’t afford to wait. Because our members deserve more than silence. Because we know that when we’re heard – change happens. And because we believe that digital presence can be just as radical as physical activism, when it’s done with heart, courage, and a clear purpose.

We’re building something new today – for the future.
